In our country, there is a typeface sign of the ruble, which has been officially adopted and approved by the government. Of course, it is an important element of the monetary system and a symbol of the economy. However, the world does not stand still, and changes in society require a revision of symbolism. We live in an era of transformation, when the question arises: maybe it’s worth updating some signs to reflect the changes taking place around us?
What is a symbol in one era may partially lose its meaning in another. The country, as a living being, is constantly changing — new heroes come, new ideas arise, and with them the symbols that embody our unity require renewal. We all rely on the past, but at the same time we must develop and evolve. Maybe we should think about the relevance of the symbols that represent us — the signs that accompany our path?
The ruble, one of the most striking symbols of the Russian economy, has always been a part of our life and culture. But now that the digital ruble has been added to the traditional treasury bill, and the economic and geopolitical situation has changed markedly, we are faced with a choice: should the symbols also evolve? Accepted symbolism often does not have time to follow the changes in our lives. We see how new characters come, new ideas sound, and old images begin to require updating. Do we really have to stay true to established forms when changes are taking place around us?
After thinking about the letter «Z», symbolizing strength and modernity, we realize that it can become the personification of our time, something that will allow us to proudly declare our identity. Yes, in other countries this letter may have a negative meaning (for example, in Germany you can get a fine for its public use). But in Russia, the letter «Z» suddenly acquired new meanings reflecting modern realities, becoming a symbol of honor and respect, as well as a metaphor for unity and strength of spirit.
Thus, if we have already «taken away» the letter «Z», perhaps we should go further and think about a broader update of the signs and symbols that represent our country. After all, life dictates its own rules and, perhaps, it is worth adopting two visual signs displaying two rubles — traditional and digital. The presence of the Latin letter «Z» or the Russian «Z» in official documents could emphasize our unique path.
